About me
With over 15 years of experience in education and 12 years as a certified dyslexia therapist, Amy Nicholson is a passionate advocate for students with dyslexia. She believes that reading is the most essential skill we can teach as it impacts every area of life. Through her work, she strives to help educators better understand what dyslexia looks and feels like in the classroom and how to support students after they have been identified. She regularly works with classroom teachers, equipping them with practical strategies grounded in the latest research. A dedicated lifelong learner, she attends the State Dyslexia Conference each summer and is always eager to explore new approaches that benefit her students. Outside of education, Amy is an avid reader, a nail art enthusiast, and a devoted animal advocate. She has personally rescued over 100 animals, reflecting her deep compassion and commitment to making a difference, whether in the classroom or the community.
